Why study acting with Lisbeth Bartlett? If you are interested in pursuing your dreams of an acting career, continuing to learn is vital. High school acting alone does not prepare you for monologue work and the competition that awaits you at college (or other) auditions. Lisbeth is a serious coach who pushes you to be your best. She gives you the tools you need to succeed and advice based on her knowledge of the process. She’s taught many students and continues to gather information about top college theatre programs where most students desire to be accepted…..and she has a long list of students who have been accepted into these prestigious programs!
I found Lisbeth to be highly involved on a personal level with my daughter – both as an individual and a student. She showed a great deal of care and concern over what kind of actor she was and which programs would best suit her needs, personality, and goals. Lisbeth goes above and beyond in supplying materials to her students, not only giving them scripts to go home with and work from, but also emailing monologues and helping to craft them to suit the specific requirements of the auditions. Lisbeth is invested in the success of her students, following up with them after auditions and using their feedback to help them (and others) on subsequent auditions. You’ll never have the feeling of “session over/I’m off the clock.” She truly cares about her students. Experienced acting instructors are hard to find in our area and we were fortunate to have Lisbeth recommended to us by a friend. It was not difficult to go from South Jersey to Philadelphia each weekend and she worked with us to find a convenient time for lessons. In addition, my husband is disabled and I was unemployed when my daughter began her lessons. She was extremely understanding and considerate in offering our daughter a partial scholarship due to our difficult situation.
My daughter was accepted into three BFA programs and was offered talent scholarships as well. Her final choice was Emerson College in Boston. Initially, Emerson had not been on our list of schools to consider, but after discussions with Lisbeth about various college programs, my daughter decided to add it to her list of applications/auditions. Clearly, that was a life-changing decision and we couldn’t be happier with her acceptance and choice! So, yes, going the extra step with lessons prior to college auditions is worthwhile and you can be certain that Lisbeth will give you her all.
