We enthusiastically recommend private acting coach Lisbeth Bartlett! We engaged Lisbeth when our daughter expressed interest in applying to audition-based college acting programs. The college BFA/BA audition process is competitive and stressful. We correctly concluded that an acting coach who had been through this process with many other students would be extremely helpful. We interviewed a number of people and we are so happy that we picked Lisbeth. We just can’t say enough about how helpful she was. Lisbeth knows her stuff!! She has “been there and done that” having performed professionally on and off Broadway, and in regional theater, film, and television, and having taught for many years. She has a lot of acting wisdom to share and she is an excellent teacher. In addition, Lisbeth cares deeply about her students. She patiently got to know our daughter and worked with her to help her select audition material that was right for her— material that our daughter could identify with and perform with passion. They worked together extensively on each piece and Lisbeth bolstered her confidence so that by the time the auditions rolled around, our daughter felt at ease with the material and was able to relax and have fun with it. Our daughter learned a great deal about acting and we witnessed her improve as time went on.

Digging deeply into the acting process with Lisbeth also solidified our daughter’s interest in acting and gave us added comfort about her choice of a college major. Lisbeth not only was a huge cheerleader for our daughter, but also for our family, calming our fears and patiently answering our questions as they arose. Lisbeth even took the extra time to send us and our daughter articles and materials that aligned with our daughter’s particular areas of interest.

Due to COVID, Lisbeth’s coaching of our daughter was done remotely, on SKYPE, and it worked out very well. Our daughter was accepted early decision to her dream school, and early action to another top program with a scholarship. She also passed several competitive BFA audition prescreen auditions at other selective programs before she was required to withdraw in favor of her early decision school.
