There’s no doubt about it. I couldn’t have survived my college auditions without my phenomenal acting coach, Lisbeth Bartlett. I’ve been studying with her since my sophomore year in high school. During my senior year, I coached with Lisbeth weekly, both in person and online,  to prepare my college auditions and go through the “trial by fire” audition season. Not only did Lisbeth help me pick excellent material that was right for me and not overdone, she also made sure I was 1000% prepared and confident when walking into my 24 (!!!) college auditions. She knows many of the college teachers who teach at the various BFA Musical Theater and Acting programs I applied to, so she understands what skills they are looking for in their BFA applicants. I also coached with her for various school and area auditions, which earned me some great leading roles and the senior class “Highest Achievement in Theatre” award from my high school. The giant jar of chocolates in Lisbeth’s acting studio helped me a lot too. :o)

Lisbeth is one of the most passionate people I have ever met. She would not stop until she had succeeded in helping me achieve my goals, whether it was to create perfect prescreen monologues or convince me to try Shakespeare, although I always said I was allergic. I ended up loving Shakespeare! Lisbeth cares the world for her students, as if they were her own children, and wants the best for them. Since starting my BFA in Musical Theatre at Syracuse University, I have continued to coach with Lisbeth for summer, college, and other auditions, and I plan to continue to work with her when I join the ranks of professional actors as well. I think the world of Lisbeth, and I’m eternally grateful for her.
