I found Lisbeth, by the grace of God when I was a senior in high school preparing for my audition for NYU, Tisch and I have been working with her for 15 years! I will never forget when I arrived at my first coaching session. I was terrified, had low self-esteem about myself and my acting abilities, and my life-long dream of going to NYU Tisch seemed much more like an adolescent fairytale than a feasible reality.

Instantly, Lisbeth changed my whole perspective. She was like the guardian angel who swept in at a time when I was in desperate need of a serious transformation. She began by reading countless scenes with me and then helping me choose and craft three incredible monologues for me. It was through this selection process alone that I, and anyone else who has had the privilege of working with Lisbeth, will tell you sets Lisbeth apart from other coaches. She helps her coaching students find fantastic monologues from her massive library (including both undiscovered contemporary pieces and classical gems) for each student’s particular strengths. She provides access to unique monologues that are not overdone and that allow you to enter the audition room knowing you are going to audition with something that is rarely if ever, seen. This will already give you a tremendous leg up from other auditioners, many of whom take monologues from monologue books or use overused monologues that will most likely be seen several times that day.

Once your pieces have been selected, you will begin the process of working through the monologues. Lisbeth is a genius at coaching you through your material. At age 17, I was a bit of a neurotic perfectionist and I met with Lisbeth at least 3 times a week for several months before my audition! At each session Lisbeth helped me to grow by blending her instincts with my own and thereby building up my confidence in my abilities as an actor. She has the perfect way of critiquing work without criticizing you in a way that makes you feel lacking. With Lisbeth, it truly feels like you are crafting and building the piece together.

It doesn’t end with the monologues alone however, Lisbeth will guide you through every aspect of the audition from introducing your pieces, what you wear, the music you might want to listen to while you wait to be called in for your audition, etc. With Lisbeth’s help you will truly grow into your own as an actor and you will feel confident in knowing that you are extremely prepared for your audition. While I have dabbled with other coaches in NYC and LA, I have yet to find any coach who can even hold a candle to Lisbeth!

Over the past several years I have taken planes, trains, and automobiles to get back to coach with Lisbeth! It is due in great part to our working together that I booked my first feature film, television shows, Off-Broadway shows, performed stand-up at some of the best venues in NYC, and worked at some of the most highly respected regional theaters (Williamstown and A.R.T.) I cannot thank Lisbeth enough for everything that she has done for me. Lisbeth has been the single most influential advocate of my acting journey from that first day that I began working with her so many years ago. She was able to see my potential before I was even able to see it in myself. This is something, I will never be able to pay her back for but I am eternally grateful for having Lisbeth in my life. I can only hope that other actors will be able to experience what I am so fortunate to experience through working with Lisbeth!
