"I felt Lisbeth was always right there with me at all my auditions, even if she was in an entirely different state."
Biography
From the moment I walked into Lisbeth’s home I knew she was one special woman. We connected immediately as we read our first scene together. It was from my favorite play, The Crucible, and while I do hope to actually play Abigail someday, I don’t know if I’ll ever find another John Proctor as passionate and thrilling to work with. From then on I felt as though Lisbeth completely understood what sort of an actress I am (and even more importantly the type I want to become) and how to find the right monologues to showcase and highlight my talents. I came to Lisbeth to help me prepare for my college audition process and at each audition I attended (and there were 11) I felt prepared and confident knowing that I loved all of my pieces and that I was truly showing each school what I have to offer. It also didn’t hurt that I had Lisbeth’s special gifts (a little plush fairy godmother and a hilarious kid’s book about overcoming stage fright], in my bag to remind me of all the work we put in together and to assuage any self doubt. I felt Lisbeth was always right there with me at all my auditions, even if she was in an entirely different state. There are few people that I respect, care for, admire and adore as much as Lisbeth. I am so happy at Emerson and I owe so much of that happiness to Lisbeth Bartlett.
