I can say without a shadow of a doubt that working with acting coach Lisbeth Bartlett changed my life and I know it will change yours too. Where can I even start with how amazing this woman is? I came to Lisbeth as a high school student looking for training in acting technique and preparation for the college audition process, but little did I know that under her wing, I would gain so much more than just guidance and training. First of all, she offered me a generous scholarship that made it possible for me to coach with her. Lisbeth is truly one of a kind; by welcoming her students into her home studio and her heart, she makes the training process one that is collaborative and personal. With her massive (seriously, it’s huge) library of plays and monologues, Lisbeth helped me find my voice as both an actor and a playwright—it feels as if every week she was excitedly bringing me new plays to read and work on because she had read them and thought of me. This is the dedication she shows her students. Her wealth of knowledge will amaze you, and better than that, she is constantly ready to learn more and encourages her students to do the same.

When I was accepted at an expensive pre-college summer theater program at NYU Tisch, Lisbeth helped me distribute a GOFUNDME campaign to potential donors; and the money I received made it possible to attend those programs, as unfortunately, my family could not otherwise afford to send me.  Lisbeth took me by the hand and guided me through the most daunting parts of college admissions, encouraging me every step of the way—when I thought myself to be nowhere near qualified or able to be accepted to Northwestern to study theater, it was Lisbeth who passionately reminded me of my worth and encouraged me to apply. I have now been accepted at Northwestern on a full Questbridge scholarship, all expenses paid. This is a dream come true, both the scholarship and to be attending Lisbeth’s alma mater. Whether ONLINE or in person, Lisbeth has challenged me beyond my limits and helped me access parts of myself I didn’t even know existed. Years later, I have come out of her studio with a sharper and more confident image of myself as an artist in the modern world; this is undeniably due to Lisbeth’s boundless kindness, generosity, and expertise.
